In the hell that is moving, I discovered a box of reporter's notebooks labeled North High School. They come from 2004-05, which I spent writing about the school.
I find in the pages much lamenting over the gradual neighborhood abandonment of the school. Those who had the choice of sending their children elsewhere often did. Andy Schrant, then an assistant principal and North High graduate, said the children of north Denver needed to know from the time they were in elementary school that one day they would be North High Vikings. They would wear the purple and gold. It was their inheritance.
